Twitch profile pictures are 256x256 pixel squares displayed as circles. Upload your image below, centre your face or logo in the crop box, and download an avatar sized for your channel page and chat.
| Recommended size | 256 x 256 pixels |
|---|---|
| Aspect ratio | 1:1 (square) |
| Displayed shape | Circle |
| Supported formats | JPG, PNG, GIF |
| Maximum file size | 10 MB |
| Smallest display | Around 30 px next to chat messages |
Your avatar shows next to every chat message and on the browse grid, often under 50 pixels. Cropping tight on a single recognisable element beats shrinking a full scene, because at that size only shape and colour survive.
Twitch profile pictures are 256 x 256 pixels in a 1:1 square, displayed as a circle.
A non square image is cropped automatically to fit the circular frame. Crop to 1:1 yourself so you control what is kept.
Twitch accepts GIF uploads for profile pictures, though the animation is not shown everywhere. Make sure the first frame works as a static image.
At chat size the avatar is roughly 30 pixels. A tightly cropped face or a bold simple logo reads well, detailed artwork does not.
